Massage Therapy

Used in both acute and chronic conditions as well as in the prevention of illness and injury, massage therapy is known to have a number of benefits that include:

  • Decreasing or eliminating pain
  • Improving joint mobility
  • Improving circulation
  • Increasing lymphatic drainage
  • Increasing body awareness
  • Decreasing muscle tension
  • Reducing depression and anxiety
  • General relaxation
  • Enhanced well-being and improved quality of life

Massage Therapy is a regulated health profession. Individuals that have completed the appropriate training and have met the competency requirements of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) are allowed to use the title of Massage Therapist (MT) or Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). At Motion Plus Physiotherapy in Guelph we have one Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), Leanne Weirmier-Synnott.
