Neurological Physiotherapy

At Motion Plus Physiotherapy in Guelph, we offer treatment for a variety of neurological conditions including (but not limited to):

  • Stroke (CVA)
  • Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)
  • Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
  • Brain and Spinal Cord Tumors
  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
  • Parkinson's Disease
  • Cerebral Palsy

Every client with a neurological condition presents with a unique set of challenges and personal goals for improving their function and overall quality of life. Using a hands-on, problem-solving approach that incorporates current scientific knowledge in the areas of motor control, motor learning, neural plasticity, biomechanics and exercise science, the client's primary movement control problems are identified and specific treatment goals are established. Treatment varies for each individual, but generally involves development of an exercise program and some direct treatment time used for movement retraining. Whenever possible, outcome measures are used to objectively track changes in physical status.
